The recently opened the Museum of History and Industry has a bounty of exhibits to look at and for the visitors who lived it, a trip down memory lane. Such is the case with Al Young, who had multi-association titles and wins in a 1970 Dodge Challenger now residing at the MOHAI for all to see.
For over 25 years of racing in the same car that started out as it came from the factory to the 100% “race car” it is as it sits in the museum who better then Al himself to explain this history. No stranger to speaking in front of crowds, having tought in the Seattle Public Schools for 37 years, Al walked the croud thru the history and in-between rounds servicing of the car.
In attendence to take this in, the Bardahl family who has sponsored the car for the majority of it’s racing career. To see this car and many other pieces of history go to www.MOHAI.org. to find your way there.

22 June 2013 – The Import nation invaded Pacific Raceways for the NOS Forum Fest. If you have an import auto and want to race it they have a class to put you in, whether you have stock or high horsepower and anything in-between. All three events were going on at the same time. Not a drag racer, try the car show as thousands packed the grounds shining them up for all to see. Say you are more into drifting, that was happening on another area of Pacific property. As all events happening together, a lot of walking was needed to see it all. Hungry? Well, Bigfood had them covered. Their fine fare took care those needs. This event grows larger each year as the word spreads, (think social media). Here are the class winners:
Motorcycle: Chris Benda breaks out big giving the win to Mark Sires
Comp Sport: Ryan Stanley beat Lucas English
All Motor Sport: Aaron Sparks tookout Chris Guonther
FWD: Cole Marmon of Enumclaw won over Don Nguyen of Kent
Forced Induction Pro: John Martinson took his #1 Qfy. spot to a win over #3 Qfy. James Schuchard

21 June 2013 – Race number 2 in the Super Combo Series at Pacific Raceways sponsored by The Sports Page brought out some new players as the word is getting around about the race. If you like wheels up racing this is the ticket, as most cars stick or automatic will hike the front tires when they leave the starting line. Check out www.pacificraceways.com to see the next race date.
Kelly Thomas picked up the win in this round over Brian Seaber. In the motorcycle class Jim Werre got the win when Chris Benda ran too quick.

19 June 2013 – As the parking lot filled with riders, a light rain was enough to wet the track as MX practice got underway for this Wednesday session. After each class got their moto in the rain the moisture finally stopped giving the riders a chance to practice in better conditions. Practice-Practice-Practice.

All weather practice was the case for the Wednesday practice at Pacific Raceway’s Motocross track. Sunshine, rain and a little wind tested the riders as they rode to gain the experience they may encounter during their Friday races. As spring wanes into summer their practice conditions will be more dry and warm racing that comes with the nice weather.
