05 Jan 2014 – Kent, WA – This re-scheduled event turned out to be a very wise move. Though it pained MX manager Lance Smail to do so in the end it was all about “safety”.
Today there were no issues with weather induced conditions. Sunny and cold is something that can be handled. Those who raced in the previous event raced in a counterclockwise direction at a length of about 3 miles.
This time riders went in the” opposite direction”. If you thought you knew the course from before, no – there were new challenges and obstacles to overcome.
To have the chance to improve your riding “skills” this has to be the best of anything you could incounter on the MX bike. Knobby tires are made for dirt, sand and even in snow with a little traction aid added. This time of year the cold temps harden the ground and will create icy surfaces, put this with ashpalt to ride on and it got the attention of all rider’s. It was quite a challenge to test against.
The Pacific Raceways property is perfect for this type of event, and I am sure more of these events are being planned. Stay tuned.
