Summit ET Bracket Series #10 At Bremerton Raceway

Summit E.T. Bracket Series # 10 7-6-2013 80806 July 2014 Bremerton, WA – As the Summit ET Series event numbers get bigger the points earning chances get smaller. This sunny Sunday was all about the “points”. A few rounds can make a big change in earning points for the E.T. finals and a track championship.

The action featured a Nostalgia Tour and a two class run for the bucks, which made for a full day of racing.

4th Annual John Kilroy Footbrake Race At Bremerton Raceway

4th Annual John Kilror Footbreak Race 7-5-14 81005 July 2014 Bremerton, WA – Strip away the modern additions to the automatic transmission that help take away the human factor on the starting line and you have what this race is all about. Two pedals, a foot on each and two hands on the wheel in plain sight. Pure old school drag racing.

Reacting to the light is all on you, the human factor. Can you do the same thing each pass? Not all race cars here, the daily driver gives you the same chance as the pure race cars. If this has your interest come out to Bremerton Raceway for their test and tune and give it a go. Check the website for dates.

Motocross Practice At Pacific Raceways – July 2nd, 2014

MX Practice 7-2-14 78702 July 2014 Kent, WA – Sunshine and a lightly moistened track is about the best conditions to moto around and test yourself. These conditions are going to be more prominent as the summer goes on.

Practicing as you race on a mid-week afternoon/evening is a great tune-up for the weekend’s races. This practice saw air under the bikes and dirt flying from the tires digging in. Lots of smiling riders as they exited the track again looking forward to their next moto. These conditions got you thinking? Come on out and join the mid-week fun.

NHRA National Open At Bremerton Raceway

NHRA National Open Sunday 6-29-2014 110829 June 2014 Bremerton, WA – Mother Nature had something to say about the “Doubleheader” on tap for the weekend. With event number one running on Saturday halted and slated to re-start in the morning, there was downpours too frequent to race.

Now come Sunday morning and there were TWO races to run – the weather continued to maintain its pattern throwing a “wrench” into our best laid plans. With racing stopped for an hour here and an hour there race number two fell to the time factor to make sure that race number one could be completed.

At the end of “winner” circle pictures just before dark Mother Nature presented everyone with how fast she can mess with you by clearing the skies to all blue. You gotta love the northwest weather.

Honda Forum Fest At Pacific Raceways – June 28th, 2014

Honda Forum Fest 6-28-14 33728 June 2014 Kent, WA – A huge Car Show, Lead/Follow on the road course, and Drag Racing! As the cars flowed into Pacific Raceways the weather was giving a clear indication of what was to come. Drag racing slated for early afternoon was in serious jeopardy.

Dry the track, then here comes the rain, and everyone had to start over. For everyone else the show went on as planned with many cars showing themselves to the many looker’s and cell phone cameras. Bigfoods brought in 20 or so to handle the food and drink for those who needed their services, there was plenty to choose from and good grub too.

The Lead/Follow groups got a wide range of weather conditions to drive the 2.25 mi. road course. Sunshine and dry to downpours of rain. Some said that they did not know how fun it is at a slower speed but going the fastest way around the track. This “line” was expertly led by the ProFormance School instructors located on the grounds.

Knowing the quickest way around the track is not all about how fast you go, a point made by said instructors at the driver’s meeting before each group got their turn.  In the end “mother nature” cancelled the drag racing. With some pretty fast “Imports” that turn some extremely quick and fast times here and ready to go, they had to be bummed.

Urban Custom Bikes #4 & Test-N-Tune At Pacific Raceways

Urban Custum Bike #4 and TnT 6-25-14 14525 June 2014 Kent, WA – Custom bikes and drag bikes racing against a dial-in. Custom bikes with all their add-ons against a pretty much stripped down bike seems like an unfair advantage to the drag bike.

Racing against your dial-in evens the odds to pretty even, though a 9 second bike trying to run down a 15 second bike makes for some very close finishes.

The custom bike rider’s picked up pointers given by the drivers, and they got more consistent in their performances and times, which translated to better dial-ins; which in turn made the finish closer.

Mid-week action can’t get much better, it was a nice way to pass the hump day. The two in the finals turned out to be a drag bike against a custom bike, with Joe Lind on the drag bike topping Jeremy Lind on the custom.

Images of all the action are now available – enjoy some shots of some of the nicest custom bikes in the area. Click here…

Swift Tools ET Series #10 At Pacific Raceways

Swift Tool ET #10 6-22-14 70122 June 2014 Kent, WA – Sunday capped a fine weekend of racing. With the weather staying pretty consistent, sunny and warm, the perfect start to summer. Today there was side-by-side ET racing at its best.

These two day ET Drag Racing weekends bring the families out. Barbeque and camping for most, some live nearby and some motel it, anyway you do it is a family affair. A first time winner, three time winner and a family affair filled the new winner’s circle:

Swift Tools ET Series #9 – Jr Dragster #7 – WCSA & LOL At Pacific Raceways – June 21st, 2014

Swift Tool ET #9 - Jr #7 - WCSA - LOL 6-21-14 58921 Jun 2014 Kent, WA – The house was packed with this multi-class race day. Better than 250 entries filled the classes and for those spectators who watched from the many viewing areas around the track they saw plenty of side by side racing.

From Jr. Dragsters to Top Dragsters with Nitrous-oxide powered street cars. Day-long sun kept the heat on for all and the crew-chiefs guessing, how much can we put to it and still hold? Racing in the finals changes your attack as the sun is on quite a downward angle and the heat-sink that this much sun has given the black racing surface starts putting it back into the air. Cooler track and cooler temps make power and when put to the track make speed and ET’s, both of which can be personal best’s.

Motocross Practice At Pacific Raceways – June 18th, 2014

MX Practice 6-18-14 108518 Jun 2014 Kent, WA – Water and its effect on a motocross track is a fine line. Too much water, like when Mother Nature puts down several inches turns dirt to mud and slop, and that is not conducive to a motorcycle even with the best tires.

With the weather dry the track workers have to hose down the dust and doing so create a fast surface for the riders. Washing this coating of dirt off your bike only takes a hose, as opposed to a pressure washer for the mud from sloppy conditions.

This practice night had the latter working for the rider’s and those who just came to watch. Practice as you race is always in play, so in effect you are watching a race. If dirt throwing and high flying bikes interest you come on out. Check the web site for times and information.
