IRDC Practice At Pacific Raceways

IRDC Practice 5-15-15 42915 May 2015 Kent, WA – In their first of two visits to Pacific Raceways 2.25 mile track the IRDC groups were out in full force today. Nearly a full paddock of haulers of all sorts brought the racers and their rides out for some fun.

Looks like the small bore group has quite a few in the field. Should make for some fine racing action over the next two days not to say that the other groups are not in the same position but the more the merrier.

We’re looking forward to all the action in all the classes this weekend. Not doing anything, come on out and watch the action.

23rd Annual Mother’s Day Nationals At Bremerton Raceway

23rd Annual Mother's Day Nationals 5-10-15 74110 May 2015 Bremerton, WA – Every year Mother’s Day brings the racers to this annual event at Bremerton Raceway. The only thing that stops the race is Mother Nature and she was happy this day,. Plenty of side by side racing to watch all day long with some surprise winners thru the rounds.

Some pretty big player’s came out to see what they might pick up. All came to win but in the end there can be only one. On that note a number of racers ended up that number one on both days of the weekend of events. Quite a feat there holding a pair of statues. Great job by those who did this.

Over 800 images of all the action are now uploaded – click here to go to the photo albums.

Here is the class winner’s this Mother’s Day Race:

2015 Swift Tools ET Drag Racing Series #1

Swift Tool E.T. Series #1 5-9-15 59009 May 2015 Kent, WA – To many racers the off season is too long and they cannot wait to get back to their passion. E.T. Drag Racing is about the most fun a racer can have as the structure of the program should put the racer’s within feet to inches at the finish line.

Running the number and cutting a good light by each lane has the eyes glancing to your competitor as the equality shows at the finish line as the margin of victory takes a computer to figure out. Unlike what you see at a divisional or national event where the first one to the finish line wins you do that and you could go quicker than what you dialed in you can lose. A lot of thinking and knowing the race cars makes this series every bit a thinking person’s game.

Over 500 images are available from the season opener – check it out by clicking here.

Here are the winner’s from Swift Tools ET Drag Racing Series #1

Jr. Thunder: Luke Cavar over Jacob Laitila

2015 Air Force Reserve High School Drags

Air Force Reserve High School Drags 5-8-15 12008 May 2015 Kent, WA – High school motor heads look forward to the spring when Pacific Raceways holds their annual drags for all the high schools in the state. Mostly west of the Pacific Crest Trail schools, though in the past some have come over the pass the take part.

I have no idea of how many schools in the area but 28 of them were represented for this race. With no threat from the weather, conditions could not be better. A mandatory driver’s meeting before anything gets going brings the focus of the driver’s to where they are at and what can happen when things go south.

This fact pointed out by a very seasoned super comp driver on what happened to him and the fact that it happens very quickly. Added to it – in closing drag strip manager Ed Garfield wished all good luck and pay attention to those that are here to help you be the best you can be representing your high school.

Breaking up the rounds of high school action were a few of local E.T. racers giving the high school students a look at what they do on when they go down the strip.

Over 400 images of all the action are now available – click here to go to the album.

Added to that there were a number of 7 second door slammer’s doing some shakedown runs before their season starts. Quite a show for all those attending.

Urban Custom Bikes #1 At Pacific Raceways

Urban Custom Bikes #1 5-6-15 10706 May 2015 Kent, WA – Starting off the Wednesday night racing the Urban Custom Bikes are continuing what they started last season. The diversity of bikes is quite visible, from pure daily driven Harleys to a NHRA legal drag bike.

This is pure E.T. racing at its best. Yes there are some pretty fast bikes that race in this series but can they run on a consistent basis run after run is the key. This was the task for 14 riders tonight with Gary Tokos on his ’06 Harley coming out on top earning the trophy over Jacob Becker on his ’09 Kawasaki.

Images of the bikes and other classes are now available – click here to go to the album.

ProFormance Racing School – May 6th, 2015

ProFormance Racing School 5-6-15 13405 May 2015 Kent, WA – Before the smart phones and social media the telephone and face to face was the way word was spread around. With today’s social media the word is spread almost instantly around the world. In the case of ProFormance Racing School it has spread to B.C. Canada as half of the students were from there today.

The complete teaching package offered up by ProFormance will take you from timid driver to a confident operator of your ride. Teaching control and what different seat of the pants sensations is trying to tell you about what your car is doing at that time. Learning this not only makes you a driver that can negotiate the twists and turns of Pacific’s 2.25 mile track, but better than that you are also a better driver on the streets and highways.

This I have been told by some has saved them from a mishap on the streets by putting to use what they had learned at the school. Become a better driver by investing in the time it takes to go thru the school. Check the ProFormance School web site for info that will work for you.

The images are now available, including quite a few exotic sports cars that were in the class – click here to go to the photo album.

Junior Dragster Challenge At Bremerton Raceway

Bremerton Raceway Sunday 5-3-15 57403 May 2015 Bremerton, WA – Winning at an early age can set in motion the desire to repeat what they just felt after doing so. The competitive drive is all from within. It is well documented that a lot of today’s winning drag racers started at an age while still in grade school. The Jr. Dragster drivers that came out for a chance to experience that feeling but also with that win would get you a little statue.

That statue a small version of the one’s earned at the National events. Highly prized no matter when it is won, just starting or experienced racer, a joyful scene either way.

Winning today in the Jr. Thunder class Porter Johnson smiled with the trophy. In the Jr. Lightning class Korban Lewis was the lucky one as 13 entries went after it. Other winners from today saw William Nitta come thru in MC, Gary Gandee picked up the win in Sportsman, the Pro class saw the Nova of Rob Lindley collect, Bill Vest is getting that wagon dialed in as he topped the field in Super Pro and in the Super Comp final two old friends, Dale Green and Steve Glenn in their dragster’s with Steve picking up the win by running the 8.90 number. Good job by all in today’s races.

National Dragster Challenge At Bremerton Raceway

Bremerton Raceway Saturday 5-2-15 18902 May 2015 Bremerton, WA – When the statues are on the line the racers come out. They are hard to get and when earned it is always displayed with pride. Yes there are those who have won many, and it shows that drive that it takes to get them. Many racers never win one in a lifetime of racing, but it never stopped them from trying.

Picking up the statue in the MC class is newly married William Nitta. A big class of Sportsman battled with Jason Biscay picking up another one. In a bigger number of entries the Pro final saw long time racer Ken Reaves getting the win. Jim Bruns and his ’69 Camaro raced to victory in Super Pro. Congrats to all the winners.

Pacific Raceways MX Friday Night Race Series Season Opener

Friday Night Race Series 5-1-15 43501 May 2015 Kent, WA – Let the riding begin! And begin it did. Nearly 300 riders showed up for the opening of the 2015 Friday night series. With a number of the riders taking part in the Wednesday practice session they had to have had an edge on the riders that did not.

The track and its new layout look fast. New jumps, twists and turns to test the best riders and a challenge for the new ones. With way more spectators than riders the cheering could be heard as the motos went on – and the line for food was pretty deep at times. If the crowd gathered at the track tonight is any indication the Friday night series this year should be packed with fun.

Images of all the riders are now available – click here to go to the album to make selections and purchases.
