We’re BAAACCCKKKK!

After what seemed like an eternity, drag racing finally resumed at legendary Pacific Raceways over the weekend. Racing was postponed to completely refurbish the first 300 feet of the racing surface with new concrete under the supervision of the National Hot Rod Association and great work by the Penhall Company.

Originally racing was to resume on Friday the 8th but Mother Nature would have none of that as rain showers cancelled the planned Grudge Drags featuring. qualifying for the West Coast Street Car Association.

Bright and early Saturday morning hundreds of racers and fans invaded the racetrack for a wild doubleheader featuring the Honda Tech Meet and the All High School Drags along with qualifying for the West Coast Street Car Association.

The All High School Drags were won by Mac West from Enumclaw driving his 67 Mustang. Runner Up was claimed by Blayne Zimmerman from Federal Way and his classic 67 VW Bug. Third place went to Austin Lenihan from Redmond.  To view the photos from the High School Drags and all the action on Saturday click here.
