01 Mar 2015 Kent, WA – You gotta love these late winter sunny days. Crisp and chilly in the early morning then just past mid-morning the short sleeves appear. Three classes and 30 race entries for the 4-stroke race today. Father’s and son’s and good friends push their four stroke motored karts around the PGP track for an hours practice then it’s race time. Once racing friendship goes out the window for pure competition, you want to win no matter who it is.
Three rounds of competition bring three places on the podium and here they are: World Formula had father over son Ken and Kevin Porter in that order. In the 206 Heavy class Christian Pederson went from a Ferrari last weekend to gain the top spot with Ricky Arnold second and Doug Huggler third. The 206 Light class saw Cole Franchini claim the top spot, second had Kevin Janders and A.J. Fugitt picking up third.
In a tribute to their friend Nick, Cole Franchini and Marshall Peterson ran a “Memorial Lap” at the end of the race session.
