18 May 2014 Kent, WA – This day quite a number of people remember it as the day Mt. St. Helens blew up at the viewing site just north of the flow. A number of racers will pass nearby the site on their way north to the track, though just like then the Mt. clouds covered everything.
With the chance of rain on the horizon race’s lost one of their qualifying hits to hopefully beat Mother Nature.
Some think she got the hint as the rain stayed away – though the breeze had a chill to it. Over 125 racers raced against the changing skies as the sun was in and out affecting the Dial In choices. Those who got it right are as follows:
SUPER PRO: Al Chin took his door slammer wagon to stop the hard charging dragster of Darral Petitt
PRO: Track champ Scott Lewsley defended his turf in a double break-out over John Barnett
SPORTSMAN: #1 Qfy. Nick Douglas beat #7 Qfy. Hat Taylor
MC: Jake Havens got another win when Chris Benda fouled
No Crosstalk: Dennis McGinnis got it over Jason Cooper
Crosstalk: Tory Lea handed it to John Ermish

A bonus today was the Austin family was out testing again, good to see you and photograph again. Good Luck with the dragster.
