08 Dec 2013 Kent, WA – For the 10th time Pacific Raceways has teamed with Lexus of Bellevue and the US Marines for a toy drive to help the Toys For Tots program. US Marine CPL Stuart Kranick for many years was on hand to unload cars and fill the boxes with those smaller toys. Bigfoods Cafe was a warm hot spot as the chilly temps brought many seeking something hot to drink or some hot food.
The parking lot filled to it’s max, and the parking spilled over onto the roadcourse, just like last year and that brought in more than 2400 cars to the toy drive and car show. As the word about the car show has spread over the years and now with social media it just keeps growing.
This increase is all the better for the toy drive as these entries bring many gifts for the cause. Now add to this for a small fee and signed waiver you can drive your ride around the 2.25mi. road course. It’s called “lead/follow” and is overseen by ProFormance Racing School’s instructors. More than 50 driver’s took this chance.
Spotted walking thru the throngs of people were two of the prettiest elected young ladies representing the city of Seattle. Miss Seattle and Miss Seattle’s Teen, in crowns and gowns, and they drew a crowd and many looks as the walked about. As this yearly event grows larger each year the Toys For Tots program benefits many in need this time of year.
Happy Holidays!
