RAIN – RACERS – RAFFLES
In the sport of drag racing, rain brings a world of issues. When you put racers on “PINK TRI-CYCLES” for a 60′ race, it creates a whole new set of issues as big winner for the day Mark Campbell found out during the “racing a trike” event. (see gallery for pictures!!)
After not even placing on the “closest to the pin” chip shot, Mark’s name was called many, many, many times in the raffle drawings. Some were calling his name as it was being drawn out of the jar. All in good fun as were all the racers trash talked, chided and heckled each other as they went through their practice rounds on the tree, but once their thumb was on the button all went away and it was game on. Round after round of “Full tree versus Pro tree” ensued. The heckling and badgering went on with help from NHRA Division Six announcer Steve Wong calling the action.
the event was held on the second floor of Pacific Raceways timing tower, with all racers using a Bracketstars Eliminator Super 2000 controller on a Portatree. The racers punched in their choices and flexed their thumbs, and it was “game on”.
The McGinnis’s (father and son) walked away with the Griot’s Garage care bucket and Northwest Nationals tickets respectfully.
All in all everyone had a good time, also helping was the fact that Big Foods was not serving turkey for lunch as most said they ate alot on Thanksgiving Day.
